Gina Wilson
naturopath extraordinaire
Gina is a highly qualified and experienced Naturopath who holds a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy as well as Diplomas in Herbal Medicine and Nutrition. She believes that optimal health and lifelong wellness should be attainable for everyone. Having been in the health industry since 2004, Gina has had the opportunity to see many clients with varying acute and chronic conditions. She has helped them to take control of their wellbeing by leaving no stone unturned, uncovering the underlying issues that contribute to disease and then effectively communicating the steps required to make progress.
Gina has a special interest in Women’s and Children’s health, Thyroid disorders, Immune problems and the natural management of Stress and Anxiety. Enhancing preconception health and supporting an optimal pregnancy to ensure that children get the best possible start in life gives her great satisfaction. With two young children of her own, Gina has first-hand experience dealing with recurrent infections, fussy eating, allergies and behavioural issues in kids (as well as helping to support stress and lack of sleep in parents). And as like most other Naturopaths, Gina is well-versed in helping people with digestive problems such as a niggling parasite, Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth or just generalized bloating.
Like many others, Gina has encountered poor health firsthand. Having spent a lot of her adolescence and early twenties feeling sick and tired and struggling to get through daily life, Gina had multiple rounds of antibiotics and spent many years just generally feeling less than 100%. In the end, it was natural medicine that gave her the relief she was looking for as she cleaned up her diet, used specific herbs and nutrients to manage her stress and poor immunity, and started incorporating lifestyle practices such as yoga and mindfulness into daily life, making her feel a million times better and finally in control of her health. After her first pregnancy, she developed Graves disease (an autoimmune overactive thyroid problem). Gina turned to natural medicine again for answers and has managed to get the Graves disease into remission. Because of the excellent results she experienced and how much better it made her feel, she is now driven to help others on their journey to wellness and optimal health by using evidence-based natural medicine, herbal and nutritional remedies, lifestyle counselling and dietary modifications (with the occasional wine and dark chocolate thrown in). Gina also uses in-clinic testing tools such as body composition and cellular health analysis, live blood analysis and Oligoscan. These testing tools combined with pathology (both conventional and specialised) help her tailor treatment to the individual’s needs.
Gina keeps her knowledge current with the latest research and clinical updates by attending seminars and conferences. She has also lectured to other Naturopaths, Nutritionists, Doctors and Chirporactors on topics such as fat loss, immune problems and healthy ageing when she was working in the product development and technical team for Metagenics Australia (a manufacturer of practitioner only supplements). Gina is a fully registered and insured member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society.
